Ashley and TC first met while teaching at South Sioux City High School. Ashley, a history teacher and cheer coach, and TC, a gym teacher and basketball coach. They sparked up a friendship and had kept in touch off and on throughout the years.

It wasn't until a fateful snow day in December that things got interesting. They found themselves at a local sports bar, celebrating their snow day away from work and students. TC, feeling bold, asked for Ashley's number—and the rest, as they say, is history.

From that moment on, they were joined at the hip. They spent the first couple of years of their relationship getting to know each other. They spent time together lounging at home, hanging out at their favorite local bar, and vacationing. They have explored every nook and cranny of Lake of the Ozarks, taken in the neon lights of Las Vegas, lounged on the beaches of Cancun, and bar-hopped up and down Broadway in Nashville.

Sports and music became their shared passions. They’ve been to the College World Series to cheer on Auburn baseball, tailgated in Ames to root on the Cyclones, bar hopped their way through Omaha for the Creighton Blue Jays, and traveled to Denver in a blizzard to rally behind the Chiefs. And let's not forget the countless concerts they've rocked out to—from Jason Aldean to Poison, Chris Stapleton to Journey, and the unforgettable Spazmatics.

When it came time to pop the question, TC didn't need a fancy backdrop or a grand gesture. He surprised Ashley during a visit to Sioux Falls, unable to contain his excitement any longer. Playing a song he had created describing their love story, he got down on one knee and asked Ashley to marry him. Just the two of them, no frills—just a whole lot of love.

So here's to Ashley and TC, the two who know that life's too short for anything less than epic adventures and unconditional love.
